The making of
Silk Heritage Mat
Inspired by the golden age of Islamic geometric art, the Silk Heritage mat is woven by artisans in Islamabad using patterns that date back five centuries. Each mat takes 40 hours to complete. The silk pile catches light differently throughout the day — a living object of beauty.
Woven and finished in Pakistan by artisans who have spent decades mastering Islamic geometric patterns. Each piece passes through three quality checkpoints — pile density, backing adhesion, and visual symmetry — before it earns the Anislam name.
Brush the pile after each use in the direction of the weave. Fold along existing crease lines — never roll tightly.
Store in a breathable cotton bag, upright if possible. Shake outdoors weekly and air in indirect sunlight for twenty minutes.
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Blot stains immediately — never rub. Allow to dry fully before folding.
For pure silk, cotton backing mats: vacuum monthly on low suction. Professional clean once yearly for silk and wool blends.
